The International Science Film Festival held at Chennai was an amazing experience. It was held at Anna University at Sardar Patel Road. The festival began from 14th October and ended on 16th of October 2017. This was my second trip to Chennai. The first I came to this city in 2011 when my animation film 'Save Trees' was screened at EGA Theatre in International Short Film Festival of India. You can say I was revisiting nostalgia.
I met a lot of young people, new aspiring filmmakers. It was a treat to interact with all. I made some good friends. There were many great science films that were showcased. I enjoyed every bit of it. For a Filmmaker, there can nothing be better than a film festival. Apart from great films, there were sessions, workshops by renowned scientists and regional filmmakers. The two days passed with a flow like a dream swift off through the eyelid.
The film festival was organized by Vigyan Prasar. The science division from Government of India that organizes film festivals based on science every year. One of my film was screened in their festival earlier this year in Kolkata. Like everything there is always two sides of a coin, All in all the festival went very well but it was not without flaws. Some arrangements needed to be Improved and so as transportation but then again, it is the part of travelling. The experience was good overall and that is what that matters.
